** With the 3DS version's own characters and DLC, Sachi Matsumoto reprises as both Skull Kid, Toon Link and Aryll while Hikari Tachibana reprises as Tetra, Heiji Maruyama as King Daphnes, Creator/ChiakiTakahashi as Medli, Akane Omae as Toon Zelda (like in ''Spirit Tracks''), Creator/MitsukiSaiga as Ravio and Seiro Ogino as Yuga.

* IKnewIt:
** Among the pre-order bonuses for the game included DLC costumes of the incarnations of Zelda and Link from the three ''Zelda'' titles featured in the game, titled "Wisdom" and "Courage", with one also titled "Power", leading people to suspect Ganondorf would be a playable character. ** Many guessed Zant and Ghirahim would be playable, as it's tradition for villains to be playable in ''Dynasty Warriors'' games. They are.
** When pics of Lana were first shown without her being explicitly named, many theorized that she was Cia before becoming corrupted. After more details of Lana were revealed, one of the theories about the true relationship between Lana and Cia involved them probably being [[LiteralSplitPersonality two halves of the same person]]. [[spoiler: Turns out Lana is actually the good half of Cia that split when she was corrupted.]]
** One of the prospective characters for the first game was a crossbow-wielding female version of Link named Linkle, though she was not included in the original game. When a crossbow was briefly shown in the trailer for ''Hyrule Warriors Legends'', fans speculated that Linkle would be included. On November 12, 2015, she was announced as a playable character.
** When all of the future ''Legends'' DLC characters were leaked via portrait file names, some fans correctly predicted that Toon Zelda would be based on her ghost form and Phantom armor from ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSpiritTracks Spirit Tracks]]''.
** When the [[UsefulNotes/NintendoSwitch Nintendo NX]] was announced, Fans had expectations for a "Complete Edition" of the game, only for VideoGame/FireEmblemWarriors to be announced instead. Fast forward several months, and to January 2018, and Koei Tecmo announced the literal "Definitive Edition", effectively restoring all the cut content to the 3DS version and then further enhancing the exclusive content.

* AscendedFanon: RuleSixtyThree Link is a thing in parts of the Zelda fandom, a topic of which became more prominent when the now since been debunked by WordOfGod rumors that the Link from ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild'' was female came about. Another thing in the fandom that's related to previous one is Linkle who originally appeared in the official artbook as a DistaffCounterpart of Link that was scrapped from the original game. Come ''Hyrule Warrior Legends'', both Linkle and the general basic idea behind her has become real.

** One of Linkle's concepts included having a closer resemblance to Link than she does now. This included looking noticeably older (and possibly taller than the current incarnation of Linkle), using a sword and shield instead of a crossbow, and a variation of Link's standard green tunic (instead of the green hooded cloak she wears), which included a green cap [[note]]Though most of these "[[BareYourMidriff tunics]]" were more or less {{Chainmail Bikini}}s, and would've resulted in Linkle being more of a MsFanservice-type character in design had they been used.[[/note]].

* RelationshipVoiceActor: You might recognize [[Creator/YukiKaji Link]] and [[Creator/AyumiFujimura Fi]] as [[Anime/AquarionEvol Amata Sora and MIX]] or [[VisualNovel/Norn9 Kakeru and Koharu]].

* NamesTheSame: Volga shares his name with a river in Europe and a Russian automobile brand.

* FanNickname: The game is often called "Harem Warriors" or "Waifu Musou" (and variations thereof) by some gamers, due to the fact that the majority of warriors on the hero's side are [[AmazonBrigade female]], while Link, who's usually a ChickMagnet in any game he's in, was the only male hero showcased until Darunia's reveal later down the line.

** Tingle was going to play a role in Linkle's story, but this idea was scrapped due to conflicting with Linkle's heroic personality.
