Trivia / Hotline 024

  • Approval of God: Saruky frequently retweets fanart of Nikku and the rest of the Hotline cast on her Twitter account, including SugarCrush Stairway, a fan mod that pits Nikku against Ena.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: While Nikku's default voice is provided by a woman, most of the voices she copies are from male characters voiced by men, such as Tricky, Shaggy, Whitty and Smiler in "Expurgated", or Pico, Skid, Pump and Daddy Dearest for the mod's cover of "Deathmatch".
  • Development Gag: The "Deathmatch" cover used in the mod opens with the same notes as the ones in an official scrapped "B-Side" remix of the original track, and continues to progress in the same style.
  • Dummied Out: The characters folder contains unused sprite sheets for Daddy Dearest (with most of his sprites being replaced with an edited version of the Broly Culo meme) along with the persona of one of the mod's developers, Fabs. Fabs is actually the "opponent" for "Uncanny Valley", but is offscreen and has no lines.
  • Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": The playable character in the secret song "Nightland", Clips, is part of another mod by the Potions'n'Spices team that was still in development when the Medley update released, Friday Night Funkin': Moonlight. Clips' character was also originally conceived long before Hotline 024 began development.
  • The Merch: An official CD containing all the songs in Hotline 024's Medley demo was made available for purchase courtesy of Turtle Pals Tapes' Compact Disc Club.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • When the mod first began development, there were plans for a side mode where the player would face off against various characters from the modding community back-to-back, based off The Arena/True Arena from the Kirby series and fittingly dubbed "The Arena Challenge"; as both this submode and the main mod increased in scope, it was decided to split it off into its own separate mod.
    • The "Deathmatch" cover was originally just supposed to be a repurposed "B-Side" remix that got scrapped from Corruption proper, but the files were lost, forcing Saruky to start from scratch.
  • Word of Gay: Saruky confirmed on Twitter that Momo and Gogo, the two girls in "Soda Disco Funk", are dating, and also clarified that they're both lesbians.
