Trivia / Hotel Transylvania: The Series

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Dan Chameroy voices both Aunt Lydia and Dr. Gillman.
  • Adored by the Network: Earlier on, Disney Channel loved this show a lot and even treated it better than Tangled: The Series, which hadn't been done with an animated series on the network in a while.
    • On July 2, 2017 (exactly one week after its premiere), Disney Channel aired a 2 1/2 hour marathon and live tweeted during the marathon. There were about 25 tweets posted during the event.
    • Slightly subverted due to the fact that the second half of the first season debuted on Netflix in June of 2018 before it arrived on Disney Channel.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Mavis' Aunt Lydia is voiced by a man, Dan Chameroy.
  • He Also Did: Series director Robin Budd has done quite a bit of work on other horror-themed comedies from Nelvana.
  • International Coproduction: Between Sony Pictures Animation in the US and Nelvana in Canada.
  • Invisible Advertising: Started suffering from this come the second season, as Disney Channel went from barely advertising it October 2019 (along with not even announcing a new season had started) to none whatsoever a year later.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • None of the original actors reprise their roles due to the series being produced in Canada. Given this is a TV series based on a movie series, it's pretty much par for the course.
    • In Season 2, Ivan Sherry replaced David Berni as the voice of Dracula.
  • Quietly Cancelled: By the second half of the second season, the show had went quiet with no official wording from the showrunners. By the time the other half had aired the showrunners had moved on to project, signifying the show was over. Help along that the series' fourth movie was announced to be its last.
  • Role Reprise: In the Canadian French dub, Dracula and Frankenstein are voiced by Alain Zouvi and Patrick Chouinard respectively, reprising their roles from the Hotel Transylvania movies.
  • Screwed by the Network: Got stuck in an early morning timeslot with no advertisement for the second half of season two in October 2020.
  • Short Run in Peru: The rest of the first season wasn't broadcast on U.S television until October 2018.
