  • Approval of God:
    • Tony Baxter (one of the ride's original co-creators) has praised the comic. He also wrote the introduction to the trade collection of the first Figment series.
    • Ron Schneider, who played the original meet and greet version of the Dreamfinder for 5 years and did some of the character's lines in the ride, has also expressed approval of the comic in interviews.
  • Ascended Fan Nickname: Blair calls his newfound flying machine the "Dream Machine", which is a popular Fan Nickname for the machine (officially, it's called the "Dream-Catching Machine").
  • Development Gag:
    • Capri's imaginary friend is called "Spark", which was the comic's Working Title prior to Figment.
    • Blair wearing glasses prior to becoming the Dreamfinder is a callback to concept art of Dreamfinder, which originally depicted him as wearing glasses in contrast to the final ride.
  • Meaningful Release Date: The last issue of the first comic came out on October 1, the same day Epcot opened back in 1982. It is also the same day Walt Disney World in general opened back in 1971.
  • Newbie Boom: Interest in the original incarnation of Journey into Imagination would receive a massive boom upon the comic's release.
  • What Could Have Been: A third Figment series was teased but never saw the light of day for unknown reasons (though it's most likely thanks to Enchanted Tiki Room, which became a Franchise Killer for the Disney Kingdoms imprint due to its poor sales). Jim Zub tweeted a tease of its outline, giving it the subtitle Journey into Imagineering, with Figment and Dreamfinder discovering Spaceship Earth's true nature as an aggregate of human history and knowledge, exploring themes of how imagination creates innovation and learning from the past to create a better future. Additionally, the Society of Explorers and Adventurers storyline from the parks would have been involved.
  • Word of God: According to Jim Zub, Capri is 13 years old at the time of the events of Figment 2.
  • Working Title: It was originally called "Spark"note  during development. This is a reference to the Journey Into Imagination ride's theme song, "One Little Spark".
  • Write What You Know: Jim Zub stated in an interview that he based the Doubtfinder on his own doubts that he had when working on other projects.
