• Troubled Production: In October 2021, roughly one month before the game's finalized release date, former developer "Wren" — who had previously blown the whistle on Dangen Entertainment for its behind-the-scenes abuse and handling of Devil Engine — wrote a secondary piece detailing issues with the creation of Fight Knight, which she had also worked on as a writer (though it was later clarified that she was only really part of the team for about a month before her own mental health issues caused her to pull back from her work.) In her writeups, not only did she claim that the lead developers struggled to reach deadlines (she reportedly only joined in development at the behest of lead developer "Boen" — who she was in a romantic relationship with at the time — who felt there were multiple problems with the script), she also alleged being the subject of chronic sexual harassment, wage discrimination, and her relationship with Boen devolved into incidents of sexual abuse, rape, and psychological manipulation via hypnosis. 
  • ​It should be noted that Wren later recanted her allegations after Boen provided a detailed rebuttal debunking many of her accusations, claiming that Wren had deliberately misconstrued their relationship and that things were more complicated than they appeared.
  • Youtuber "Technicals" would in April 2024 release an hour long documentary [1] on Fight Knight's development that investigated the game's troubled development, Wren's allegations and her possible motivations for making them.
