    • Some of the illustrators from Fate/Grand Order also contributed to designing the characters of the following:
      • Saber is drawn by Takashi Takeuchi, who did the original character designs of Fate/stay night and Fate/Zero.
      • Archer is drawn by Shizuki Morii, who is the illustrator of Fate/strange Fake and also drew Tristan, Enkidu, and the Pseudo-Servants Ishtar, Ereshkigal, and Amor.

      • RAITA, who did the character designs of James Moriarty, Sakata Kintoki, Shuten Doji, Murasaki Shikibu, Ibuki Doji, and Minamoto no Raikou, also did the character design of Rider. Fitting given she's Ushi Gozen, Raikou's Split Personality.
      • Assassin's character design is drawn by danciao, who did the character designs of Ivan the Terrible and Xiang Yu.
      • As usual, Wada Arco, who did the character designs of the Fate/EXTRA cast, is also responsible for the character design of Tamamo Aria.

      • Chiwa Saitō Boudica, Chevalier d'Eon, Chloe von Einzbern, Koyanskaya, Amaterasu, and the Tamamo Nine, who are offshoots of the original Tamamo-no-Mae.
  • Newbie Boom: The game brought the attention of Warriors/Musou fans who became interested in the Fate franchise. It helps that the story is stand-alone and easy to get into without relying too much on the previous Fate entries.
  • No Dub for You: Like all Fate video games, Samurai Remnant doesn't have an English dub.
  • Promoted Fanboy: As revealed in an interview from TYPE-MOON Ace Volume 15, Koei Tecmo CEO Kou Shibusawa is a huge fan of Fate/Grand Order and cited Shimosa as his favorite story. He's the one who requested KT producer Tomohiko Sho to pitch a project with Type-Moon to make a game with them.
  • Recycled Script: Samurai Remnant is clearly intended as a new entry point to the franchise, and recycles much of the themes and plot beats from the original Fate/stay night. Differences arise as the story wears on, but to wit: The Waxing Moon Ritual is a variation on the Holy Grail War, with various bugs and anomalies because the ritual is still in active development. Iori is quite similar to Shirou, being an amateur mage who hopes to protect others with martial skill, though his dead mentor thought this was an unattainable goal. Before he knows anything about the conflict or its special magics, Iori is attacked in the night by a rival Servant. By sheer luck, he saves his own life by summoning a Saber, an androgynous royal who wields a hidden sword. Horrified by the collateral damage of this first night, just like Shirou, Iori decides he must remain in the war to protect innocents, especially since things are just becoming peaceful and prosperous again after the carnage of years past (the Sengoku Period here, or the previous Grail War in stay night).
  • What Could Have Been:
    • An interview with RPGSite stated Miyamoto Iori wasn't initially envisioned as the protagonist, only becoming one during the writing process.
    • An interview with 4Gamer reveals that FGO's Osakabehime was considered to be one of the Rogue Servants, but Circe was chosen instead. Oskabehime was rejected because her connections to the female Musashi were too strong in FGO, and the staff didn't want to have to go deep into FGO lore.
    • Original concept art for Iori and Saber more heavily took cues from Shirou and Saber, before being given more distinct designs.
    • As revealed in the FGO Chaldea Satellite Station 2023-2024 ~ Niigata stream, Ruler Gilgamesh wasn't supposed to be playable and is meant to be an enemy boss instead. But because of fan demand, he ended up becoming playable instead.
  • Word of God: In the Fate/Grand Order 8th anniversary Famitsu interview, Kinoko Nasu confirms that the Samurai/Remnant story took place between the Shimosa and Russian chapters, meaning Musashi is the same one who is Chaldea's ally before she's declared "DATA LOST" after her sacrifice in the Olympus chapter.
