• Actor-Shared Background: Nina Chase and Shantel VanSanten grew up in Texas.
• Fake American: With the exceptions of Kellan Lutz (Ken), YaYa Gosselin (Tali), Miguel Gomez (Ivan), Dylan McDermott, Alexa Davalos (Kristin), and Shantel VanSanten (Nina), all of the cast members are from different countries: Julian McMahon (Jess) is Australian,^note He has American citizenship though as he lived and worked in California from the 1990s. Roxy Sternberg (Sheryll) is British, Keisha Castle-Hughes (Hana) is New Zealander and Nathaniel Arcand (Clinton) is Canadian.
• Fake Russian: Rudolf Martin (German) as Trofim Sarkov.
  • Fake Nationality: Lyanka Gryu (Russian-Moldovan) as Polina Sarkov, a Ukrainian of Russian descent.
• Killed by Request: Julian McMahon wanting to move on from the series, so he insisted on his character Jess dying. Jess is fatally shot during the end of the episode "Shattered" while aiding a domestic violence victim.
• Playing Against Type: Dylan McDermott finished his stint on Law & Order: Organized Crimeas the Big Bad before being cast as Julian McMahon's replacement. Here, he's one of the heroes.^note Dylan has previously played police officers in other dramas previously.
• Real Life Writes the Plot:
  • Nathaniel Arcand was absent in the latter part of Season 2, likely due to COVID-19 isolation requirements for flying to and from Canada in shooting the series in the US East Coast. This was written in the storylines that he's tasked for other assignments in the FBI. Nathaniel later confirmed that CBS quietly made plans for him to leave.
  • Kellan Lutz left the show after the third season premiere because he decided to spend more time with his family, especially his newborn daughter. He did say in interviews that he has no problem coming back eventually.
  • Keisha Castle-Hughes gave birth in June of 2021. The first four episodes of Season 3 thus say Hana is out of town visiting her sick mother.
  • Barnes taking a leave of absence late in season 3 is because actress Roxy Sternberg was pregnant.
  • Ortiz leaving the Fugitive Task Force during Season 3's finale is because Miguel Gomez wanted to leave the show.
