• Word of God mentioned wanting to show Blink's Bahamian heritage more, which is why she now has the hairstyle she does, in addition to having her drawn with more full, stereotypical black African features.
• Blink's new design is based off of Janelle Monáe.
• Valkerie's visual design is based on Tessa Thompson's version of the character in the MCU, though in personality she differs by being a Boisterous Bruiser.
• What Could Have Been: Valkyrie's place on the team was originally going to be filled by Thunderstorm, the alternate future daughter of Thor and Storm, affectionately dubbed "Thororo".
