• Franchise Killer: By the time the movie came out, the Elf Bowling series as a whole had been tarnished by the DS and GBA ports of the first two games. This film's own failure put the final nail in the series' coffin, and it's shown no signs of life since.
• Same Content, Different Rating: The film was originally rated PG in the United States, yet it was rated '12' in the UK for "one use of moderate language."
• Stillborn Franchise: A sequel to the film, titled Elf Bowling 2: The Great Halloween Pumpkin Heist, was advertised at the end of the film and planned for a Fall 2007 release, but was canned due to the failure of the first film.
• Uncredited Role: Of all the named characters in the film, the only one left out of the credits is Rapple, who shares a voice with Dingle.
