  • Acting for Two: The headliner and the four visionaries, as well as Morgana and Bess (the exception being the Cassidy version).
    • In 1996, an understudy cast full of this took over between Crawford's departure and Cassidy's arrival.
  • Follow the Leader: This was the MGM Grand's answer to both Siegfried and Roy's magic show at the Mirage and Cirque du Soleil's first Las Vegas resident show, Mystère, at the Mirage's sister resort Treasure Island. Eventually MGM Grand's parent company assumed ownership of the rival casinos, and EFX closed to make way for Cirque's .
  • Forgotten Theme Tune Lyrics: Michael Crawford was given permission from film composer John Barry to add lyrics to the theme from Somewhere in Time, turning it into a song of the same name for the show's pre-show music. Both the preshow and post-show (the song "Open Your Eyes") music were removed after Crawford left in 1996.
  • No Stunt Double: The show was originally written with Michael Crawford's knack for performing his own stunts in mind, and as such, stars of the show had to deal with flying harnesses, pyrotechnics and suspended platforms. Inverted when Houdini performs the Water Torture Cell Escape, specifically so Tommy Tune and Rick Springfield could reappear from the audience.
    • As a result of the show relying on a lead actor doing almost all of their own stunts, it was somewhat notorious for injuries and accidents, which included Crawford's Merlin costume almost burning completely off during rehearsal, Crawford breaking a hip during a zipline stunt in the Barnum act, and Rick Springfield falling off a setpiece and breaking his arm during the H. G. Wells act!
