  • Actor-Inspired Element: The Special Guests of Season Two all contributed to the creation of their own characters.
    • Elyse Willems came up with the concept for Harvey Hornswaggle, and wrote detailed notes about the designs for his posters.
    • Julia Lepetit gave SungWon Cho the option to play a character from either a Dating Sim or a Fighting Game. It was his idea to combine them both.
    • Caldwell Tanner came up with the names ”Duke Kingston Munch” as well as ”Conrad Uctor” (whom he didn’t play.) It was also his idea that Conrad should be seemingly killed by the Ticket Taker during his second appearance to make The Reveal that he was the Big Bad more shocking.
  • Serendipity Writes the Plot: The Laser-Guided Amnesia element of Season Two was initially concieved so that the guest stars wouldn’t have too much lore to remember.
  • Throw It In!: Episode 5 of Season 2 was originally not meant to have a drawing challenge at all, but Julia Lepetit allowed the players to add one mid-episode because she liked their suggestion.
  • What Could Have Been: There are many according to this post-season livestream the crew did.
    • There was going to be at least one guest star in the first season but due to the crew being laid off half-way through, putting a massive delay in production, the plans fell through.
    • There was an entire character and possibly room that was cut due to time and pacing issues. The character — a possibly unnamed orc bard — went as far as getting a finished character design, but the room was cut before being drawn.
    • Originally, the players would have to search the rooms to find clue items, but this was cut due to making the game too difficult. In the final show, the items have already been found by various guests, and the detectives have to barter to get them to hand the clues over.
    • While the players got to choose the order they visited each room in, note  the clue items were presenter in a pre-determined order. This means that there could have been a scenario where the killer still carried around the murder weapon, which would probably have been hard for them to explain away.
    • Several of the characters were changed throughout the development of the show.
      • Ogalvy was originally known as Heggy (derived from the word "egg".)
      • Harper was initially conceived as an unironically cool character, before being reimagined as more of an edgy wannabe.
      • Dr. Fontaine was meant to be a much younger Big Beautiful Woman. She was later redesigned as a Miniature Senior Citizen.
    • A happier ending where Sorin was revealed to be Not Quite Dead was considered, but ultimately decided against.
    • The games that Julia showed off at the arcade in episode 5 of season 2 were supposed to be what the episode was based around, with all of them being fairly fleshed out recreations of classic carnival games. The players soon realized that there was too much random chance to reliably earn the points they needed for the episode's clue so asked for a drawing challenge instead.
  • There was meant to be an animated trailer to market Season Two, but said trailer was cancelled due to a lack of time.
  • Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: Downplayed in that the mystery was mostly written in advance, but some aspects — such as the newspaper clue — were added later. Julia Lepetit also admitted to only making up most of the character voices right before they were supposed to speak, and created the name "Don Jovi" about ten minutes before recordings started.
    • A friend of Julia's (and a fellow DM) outright encourages her to not make her plans too detailed, as the players would likely end up digging around them anyway.
    • Drawing By The Seat Of Their Pants: Apart from the obvious gimmick of the show, since none of the cast members actually knew anything about the setting and because Julia didn't give them a reference chart this resulted in their characters proportions being wildly inconsistant not just with each other but with the rest of the show, possibly best exemplified when Gyorik restrains Emery in the final episode where Gyorik's head is almost three times as big as Emery's despite theoretically only really being a bit larger than him.
