Trivia / Doom: Annihilation

• Disowned Adaptation: The official Doom Twitter account made a point of making it clear that id Software had no involvement in this film.
• Follow the Leader: The film is a rather blatant ripoff of Aliens- swiping several plot points and character roles from the iconic film.
• Promoted Fanboy: Director Tony Giglio says he was a fan of the series, and he certainly had to put in some work to convince Universal to go for it.
• Screwed by the Lawyers: The filmmakers were only allowed to use elements from the pre-Bethesda games, since Universal only had the film rights to those particular elements. They asked for Bethesda's involvement, but they declined.
