- Completely Different Title: As the original title is loaded with references to other films, this trope was probably inevitable. Among the examples:
- Spanish: Los colegas del barrio ("The Homies in the Hood")
- Catalan: Els col·legues del barri (idiomatically identical to the Spanish title)
- Portuguese: Vizinhança do Barulho (literally "Noise Neighborhood", but meaning something like "Hectic Neighborhood") in Brazil, but an Untranslated Title in Portugal.
- French: Spoof Movie
- German: Hip Hop Hood – Im Viertel ist die Hölle los ("Hip Hop Hood — The Neighborhood's Going to Hell")
- Italian: Un ragazzo veramente speciale ("A Really Special Guy")
- Polish: Chłopaczki z sąsiedztwa (the Polish title of Boyz n the Hood, but with the diminuitive form of the word "boys")
- Swedish: Ghettoblaster
- Playing Against Type: The film was directed by Paris Barclay, who's better known for directing episodes of TV dramas such as In Treatment, Sons of Anarchy, and NYPD Blue.
- The Red Stapler: In the film, the characters play an urbanized version of Monopoly (I.E. building crack houses instead of hotels). In 2003, a version of Monopoly called Ghettopoly was actually created and it looked pretty similar to the board game seen in this film. The NAACP was not pleased.
