- All There in the Manual/Word of God/Word of Saint Paul: In the Disgaea D2 artbook that came with the Limited Edition, the ages of the Disgaea trio seem to have not changed since Disgaea 2. When asked about it, both Takehito Harada (On twitter) and the NIS staff confirmed that the game takes place at least before Disgaea 2.
- The timeline was confirmed by the DLC. Adell and Rozalin, who are implied to have traveled to the Netherworld thanks to a time distortion, recognize Laharl and company, but not vice versa.
- Development Gag: Concept art for the first game revealed that Laharl was originally going to have a sister, but the idea was scrapped. While the design for that sister, Maharl, would later be reused in the anime, Disgaea D2 re-explores the idea with the introduction of Sicily. Hilariously, her introduction would have aspects of Maharl's introduction — a girl claiming to be Laharl's sister who wants to take the throne from him.
- Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": In North America, both Metallia and Plume debuted as DLC characters with their games slated for a 2014 release (Metallia's in March 2014 and Plume's in Summer 2014). Averted with Liliel, who was released as a DLC character on the same day The Guided Fate Paradox was released.
- Milestone Celebration: The third game in Nippon Ichi's Anniversary Project.
- The Other Darrin: Adell's English VA changed from Shiloh Strong to someone completely different. The reactions weren't exactly pleasant.
- Ash's VA's was changed as well.
- Alex VA was changed from Grant George to Yuri Lowenthal. The strange thing about this is that Grant George reprised his role as Axel.
- If you think about it, having one VA play two characters with nearly identical names would have confused more than a few people.
