- Only So Many Canadian Actors: As a Canadian production, Di-Gata Defenders is obligated to use Canadian talents in the lead roles. As a result, we get quite a diverse mix of Canadian actors. Among the main cast, post-2007 Teletoon announcer Dan Petronijevic and YTV's very own Stephanie Beard co-star alongside Martha MacIsaac and the future host of The Bachelorette Canada Noah Cappe, while prominent Toronto voice talents Juan Chioran, Ron Rubin, Lawrence Bayne, and Martin Roach all feature as the villains.
- What Could Have Been: How the show came about really. When Nelvana called upon its animation studio staff to pitch ideas for 5-minute interstitials shorts on a project called Funpak, series creator Greg Collinson was urged by a colleague to make something for it. 2 weeks later, he ended up with the series bible for Di-Gata Defenders, which although too large for the Funpak shorts, got enough interest from Nelvana that they greenlit its production anyway.
- Working Title: Greg Collinson originally conceived the series under the title Power Stone Warriors.
