- Channel Hop: The first film was released by Disney, through Touchstone Pictures. The sequel was distributed by Columbia Pictures.
- Creator Backlash:
- Despite his vehemently defending European Gigolo pre-release (which earned him a famous rebuke from Roger Ebert), in the years since the movie's release, Rob Schneider has admitted that it really did suck.
- Jeroen Krabbé also hated European Gigolo to the point where he rarely speaks of it in interviews, and the few times he has mentioned it have been less than complimentary.
- Fake Nationality: Israeli actor Oded Fehr plays the Argentinian gigolo Antoine Laconte.
- Hey, It's That Place!: Tina's house is none other than the Halliwell manor from Charmed which at that point was in its second season.
- Hostility on the Set: Several of the Dutch actors involved in the production of European Gigolo have alleged that Eddie Griffin was verbally abusive to the cast and crew, particularly whenever a take was flubbed.
- One-Book Author: European Gigolo director Mike Bigelow has no other film or television credits whatsoever, with the rest of his work being in the field of commercials.
- So My Kids Can Watch: Jeroen Krabbe agreed to appear in the second film mainly because his son had been a big fan of the first.
- Working Title: The second film's subtitle was originally going to be Electric Gigolo — a reference to Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo — but it was changed to European Gigolo after the storyline was rewritten to take place in Amsterdam.
