- The Other Darrin: The remake adds Boss Banter to Crypto's battle with General Armquist, provided by Dwight Schultz, as his original voice actor, John Cygan, passed away in 2017. Strangely, Schultz also re-recorded a couple of Armquist's cortex scans as well.
- Real Song Theme Tune: The trailer for the remake has Crypto brainwashing people set to "Ich Will" by Rammstein. The song is so synonymous with the game now that it became the unofficial theme tune for the remade series.
- Role Reprise: For the 2020 remake of the first game, Richard Horvitz returned to voice new lines for Pox. It's very easy to figure out which lines are new for the game, and which were recycled from the PS2 version (which begs the question as to why they didn't re-record all the voice lines). Namely the new lines have a higher sampling rate that sound significantly better, and Pox's voice is less gravelly and more flamboyant, very much like he was in later games.
