Trivia / Claire's Knee

Go To

  • Cast the Expert: Well-known writer Aurora Cornu as a writer named Aurora.
  • Development Gag: The plot about the man watching girls play tennis and hiding the tennis balls that come his way that Aurora describes is actually the plot of the original "Claire's Knee" short story that Rohmer wrote in 1949, which he changed considerably for the film version.
  • No Budget: Finally averted for the first time in Rohmer's career. American producer Bert Schneider (yes, the guy who co-created The Monkees) kicked in a substantial amount of money to the project.
  • Throw It In!: Fabrice Luchini (Vincent) improvised most of his dialogue.
