Trivia / Charlie and Lola

Go To

  • Children Voicing Children: Charlie, Lola, and all of the other characters are voiced by actual children. Although the children refer to adults, even asking them questions, no adult voices are ever heard.
  • Creator-Preferred Adaptation: Lauren Child has only written four of the books, and doesn't get royalties from the other films, having sold the rights to them before she realized it could be so profitable. At some point, though, it seems rights reverted back to her at least as far as the books because she published a new title in the series called Absolutely One Thing in 2016 that isn't connected to the television series and has a more classic look.
  • Official Fan-Submitted Content: In 2006, the BBC ran a contest that encouraged fans of the show to create interior or exterior plans of their own house to be featured in the show itself, by letting their imagination run free. It's not known what episode they were featured in, or if they were shown at all.
  • The Other Darrin: Charlie and Lola have both had three different voice actors respectively, probably because they are all voiced by actual children. Interestingly, they are the only characters in the show to have had more than one voice actor.
  • Recursive Adaptation: A number of books based on stories from the television show were released, with illustrations in the show's style.
  • Write Who You Know: Lola is based off an inquisitive young girl that author Lauren Child met on a train.
