Trivia / Chairman of the Board

Go To

  • Blooper: During the museum scene, Edison calls Natalie "Courtney" after her actress Courtney Thorne-Smith. It's pretty amazing that no one bothered to fix this.
  • Box Office Poison: Budget: $7,000,000. Domestic gross: $306,715.
  • Creator Backlash: Courtney Thorne-Smith absolutely hated the film, which is why she found Norm Macdonald roasting it when she appeared with him on Late Night with Conan O'Brien hysterical.
"When Norm took over, I’m like, 'Oh, thank you, God and Norm Macdonald.' It was a blessing. Look...had I thought that Chairman of the Board was my path to an Oscar, I might have been offended. I did not."
  • Star-Derailing Role:
    • This was the first and last starring role for Carrot Top. Reportedly, there were plans for Carrot Top to star in two other films and have him become a star à la Pauly Shore, but the film's failure put the kibosh on that.
    • It also pretty much damaged Courtney Thorne-Smith's movie career beyond repair. She left Melrose Place to do a movie with Carrot Top, and all of her further successes would be in TV sitcoms.
