- Franchise Killer: Barring the remaster of Burnout Paradise released in 2018, no new game has been released after this one. Considering that multiple people including the co-founders left Criterion Games in 2014 to form a new company, the overall mixed reception from gamers and critics and with EA shifting their strengths to help with other franchises (then later giving the reins of Need for Speed back to Criterion after Ghost Games' entries in that series failed to impress), it is safe to assume this to be the case.
- Real Song Theme Tune:
- Like Paradise, this game uses The Primitives' "Crash" as its theme song.
- Other licensed songs also make an appearance whenever the player activates a power-up, including but not limited to:
- Spandau Ballet's "Gold" when you blow up a gold car.
- Gloria Estefan's "Dr. Beat" when you give safe passage to an ambulance.
- Salt-N-Pepa's "Push It" as a bulldozer drives by.
- Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby" as a blizzard follows through.
