- California Doubling: Despite being set in Finland, the movie was filmed in Germany. This was because Bavaria has hills and woodland that were essential to the story, whereas real-life Finland is notoriously flat.
- Completely Different Title: In Polish, the movie was called Polowanie na prezydenta - literally, Hunt for a president.
- Creator Backlash: Director Jalmari Helander has some reservations regarding the film. He feels in that in retrospect the film went a bit too over-the-top and cartoonish, since he originally wanted it to be a grittier action film. He also felt that filming it in Bavaria was also a mistake due to it not even remotely looking like Finland.
- Missing Trailer Scene: One of the trailers has Moore screaming that not he's only lost in the woods, he also doesn't have one of his shoes. This is absent from the film, where Moore simply wraps his shoeless foot in a blanket, and then puts on one of the dead Secret Service agents' shoe.
- Playing Against Type: You'd think a movie with Samuel L. Jackson as the president of US would have him being President Action. Nope — he's a Lovable Coward President Target.
