Trivia / Batwoman 2019 S 1 E 9 Crisis On Infinite Earths Hour Two

Go To

  • Acting for Two:
    • Brandon Routh plays both Ray Palmer and Earth-96 Superman.
    • Elizabeth Tulloch plays the briefly-glimpsed Earth-75 Lois, as well as her main Earth-38 self. (Ms Tulloch tweeted that the late Superman-75 was Mr Hoechlin’s stunt double.)
  • Bad Export for You: Aussie viewers wanting to watch Part 2 would have to sign up for the infamously expensive Foxtel cable service, as Batwoman is the only Arrowverse program to be unavailable anywhere else, including iTunes, Netflix or Google Store. Simiarly, the UK has to wait until the end of the series for this episode to air.
  • Enforced Method Acting: Candice Patton has admitted she used to have a crush on Tom Welling back during Smallville. So Iris being flustered and awkward around the Smallville Clark Kent is completely genuine.
  • No Export for You: Due to The CW’s licencing policy changing between the release of Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman, Part Two of Crisis is not available in many regions outside the US to watch on TV, and may not even be available for streaming or purchase at all.
  • Role Reprise:
  • What Could Have Been: Michael Rosenbaum, Smallville's Lex Luthor, was contacted to appear in this episode but declined.
  • Word of God:
    • This is still technically a Batwoman episode and showrunner Caroline Dries revealed that it was designed as part of Batwoman's ongoing arc — her previous episode had her faith that Alice could be redeemed shattered by Alice's murder of Catherine, and she's confronted with the idea she may have no choice but to kill her. Her encounter with Bruce-99 is a cautionary tale of where she might end up if she starts down that path.
    • While they are not explicitly referenced in the episode, Marc Guggenheim has stated via Twitter that the events of the Smallville Season 11 comic books - which chronicle Clark Kent's exploits as Superman, beginning six months after he first donned the costume in the TV show's Grand Finale - are considered a part of the Arrowverse canon.
