• The Other Darrin: Chuck Norris is replaced by Michael Dudikoff, which has lead some to question the film's status as a sequel to Invasion USA.
• Reality Subtext: Michael Dudikoff & Steve James were close friends in real life, and also starred together in American Ninja and American Ninja 2 for Cannon Films. At point, in the film, Harper holds a picture of them together, which is actually a scene from American Ninja.
