• Deconstructive Parody: The light novel's author allegedly submitted the draft for the first five volumes as a joke, working off of the usual Battle Harem tropes. Only when he reached Volume 5 and found that his series gained some traction was he allowed to write more volumes and radically change the direction in which his series took, going from traditional battle harem cliches to full-on action.
• Dueling Shows: With Chivalry of a Failed Knight and The Asterisk War as they made up the rather joked about Fall 2015 Battle Harem Wars. Whereas Chivalry and Asterisk both aired on Saturday and gained most of the attention due to their similarities for around half of their series, Antimagic's discussion managed to avoid the scrutiny for being inherently different in what it wanted to accomplish.
