- Creator Backlash: The author came to regret the original batch of Loud House Dark Fics he wrote, which represent the original (bad) timeline, due to their poor quality and self-serious/creatively restrictive nature, and eventually deleted them. Second Chance was specifically written as a more humorous and fantastical Continuity Reboot to rectify that, giving its title and general plot a double meaning, and its connection with the original fics is mainly in Broad Strokes.
- Downplayed with Second Chance itself. While he was overall satisfied with it, he regretted making it as lengthy as it wound up being (even with its serialized nature), which was incredibly taxing and led to No Good Deed Goes Unpunished being made an Immediate Sequel with shorter chapters and brisker pacing, when it was originally envisioned as the conclusion of Second Chance.
