- Has run concurrently against fellow German crime & punishment series Tatort (which launched the Detective Drama craze in West Germany back then) since 1981. Both Claus Theo Gärtner and Günter Strack actually had several one-shot roles in Tatort before becoming the leads of A Case for Two (Gärtner had two roles, Strack had six), not to mention many actors both shows shared in one-shot roles.
- Also ran concurrently against another inhouse (ZDF) production, Derrick, between 1981 and 1998.
- No Stunt Double: Claus Theo Gärtner is car enthusiast and did his own car stunts in the series. He also participated in numerous car races and worked as a test driver for a German car manufacturer.
- Role Reprise: Claus Theo Gärtner reprised the role of Josef Matula for three TV movies in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
