** UnusualEuphemism
* RealLifeRelative: One episode ends with a sketch of Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie invading a woman's house and demanding to see her husband; the woman brings down a baby, who she says is the only man in the house. The baby was played by Laurie's real-life son, and in the part of the sketch in which they start screaming at the baby, Fry is quite obviously trying not to laugh at the sight of Laurie half-heartedly yelling at his kid here. (The resemblance is also uncanny.)

** According to Hugh in a later interview, Creator/StephenFry had never been able to convincingly fake hitting someone. So when the script called for him to hit Hugh - which happened quite often - he would actually hit him. So that wincing and those cries of pain you hear from Hugh in this show are mostly real.

* ExecutiveMeddling: The fourth series was aired on BBC1 rather than BBC2 and they mandated the presence of guests on the show--while there had been numerous guests in previous series, they were performers in the sketches rather than interviewed features. Fry and Laurie were not pleased with the change, as is very clear from their absurd interviews and their dripping sarcasm in episode 6 when they were "unable" to find anyone to join them.

** A very young [[TheFastShow Paul Whitehouse]] needs his botty fondling.
** Whilst [[TheGoodLife Paul]] [[YesMinister Eddington]] demonstrates his impeccable comedy timing.
*** And in the same sketch, [[Series/DoctorWho Jackie Tyler]] plays Hugh's wife.

* EnforcedMethodActing: Fry can't fake-hit Hugh, so he actually hits him when the script calls for it. Well, that explains why it looks so realistic.

** A lot of the time it's accidental though. A good example of this is in [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNrS9RHMc-I the racing driver sketch]]. Near the end you can see Stephen's eyes widen in shock, before he folds his arms and
looks so realistic.away.
