We're going to need a bigger flyswatter...note

LEGO Galaxy Squad is a LEGO Theme released in 2013. Succeeding Alien Conquest, this LEGO Space theme centers around humans and robots teaming up against insects in space. Story-wise, it serves as a continuation of Monster Fightersnote  and was followed up by Ultra Agents.

Tropes:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: A few set names, like the Crater Creeper and Vermin Vaporizer.
  • Alien Abduction: The Buggoids have purple pods with which to capture humans for unknown purposes.
  • Bug War: The Galaxy Squad is fighting the Buggoids seemingly to stop the latter from abducting humans and expanding their swarm.
  • Cast Herd: There are ten heroic characters in total (six humans and four robots), split into four teams.
  • Color-Coded Characters: There are four differently-colored teams in the Galaxy Squad: Blue, Red, Orange and Green, each with their own specialty:
    • Blue: Technology
    • Red: Speed
    • Orange: Firepower
    • Green: Defense
  • Combining Mecha: The turret section of Vermin Vaporizer can separate into a Mini-Mecha piloted by the Green Robot. The Eradicator Mech has a small ship portion that can detach. Otherwise, many of the Galaxy Squad's other vehicles are the "combining vehicles" variation.
  • Fragile Speedster: The Red team, focused on speed, exclusively use small, quick-moving vehicles that are light on defense.
  • Insectoid Aliens: Come in many varieties. The humanoid types are the Buggoid (generic insect), Mosquitoid and Mantizoid. They all appear to have grown from larval forms found in the sets. There's also giant brick-built bugs.
  • Law of Chromatic Superiority: The red Buggoids appear to be higher-ranked than their green counterparts due to being rarer and piloting bigger vehicles (the large Star Slicer).
  • Luke Nounverber: Ashlee Starstrider plays it the straightest with the noun + verb surname, but most of the other human characters also have futuristic-sounding compound words for last names.
  • Mechanical Insects: All of the Buggoids' vehicles are modeled after insects. The Warp Stinger is a mosquito, the Star Slicer is a mantis, and the smaller side builds of "Bug Obliterator" and "Vermin Vaporizer" appear to be a dragonfly and scorpion respectively. The rest don't really resemble any specific type of insect.
  • More Dakka: Orange team's specialty. Their vehicles are loaded with missile launchers and their robot carries a BFG in both of its set appearances.
  • Mosquito Miscreants: The Mosquitoids are a common Mook type, and their iconic vehicle, the Warp Stinger, is also designed after a mosquito.
  • Palette Swap: While the main three types of Buggoids have unique head molds, the red Buggoids are the basic green Buggoids but with inverted colors (the green Buggoids have small red markings and vice-versa).
  • Slaying Mantis: The Star Slicer is a giant mechanized mantis that slices things with its claws.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Ashlee Starstrider of the Orange Team is the only female (human, at least) in the theme.
  • Space Marine: The titular squad, an elite unit who fight in space with high-tech weaponry.
  • Stealth Sequel: Galaxy Squad is actually a sequel to Lego Monster Fighters, although this continuity isn't obvious from any of the sets or promotional media. As shown in a LEGO Club Magazine comic, the Buggoids are attracted to Earth because of a beacon of light emanated from Lord Vampyre's castle, and therefore the Galaxy Squad must intercept them before they invade Earth. Later, Galaxy Squad received its own Stealth Sequel: LEGO Ultra Agents, which stars Solomon Blaze after retiring from Galaxy Squad but once again does not advertise this continuity in most media.
