* Valerie's story. By the end of her tale, you will realize the full breadth of V's conviction that the Norsefire regime must pay, ''must fall!''
** Mitigated somewhat when [[spoiler: Evie finds out that it was part of a MindScrew by V.]]
*** [[spoiler: Back in full force when V tells her that he didn't write the letter, but received it exactly as she did.]]
** In the film, the flashbacks are this, ''especially'' after Valerie's lover Ruth was arrested. First, Valerie is seen hysterically sobbing, clutching one of Ruth's shirts. Then, when the police come for ''her'', Valerie just sits there, staring straight ahead. She doesn't run away, or fight, or even scream... [[DespairEventHorizon she just lets them come]].
* Also, the fate of the young girl in the movie version; [[spoiler: during the VO by Detective Finch describing how "someone will do something stupid", it's shown that one of the Fingermen shot her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrwTDfdck7I for spray-painting V over a propaganda sign]]]].
** It's followed by [[KarmicDeath instant karma]]. [[spoiler: And seems to be the trigger of the revolution]].
* In the movie, [[spoiler: V kneeling down and weeping after Evey's departure serves to humanize him beyond the faceless anarchist, and the small crack in his suave mask is hard to watch. Tearstorm ensues]].
* In the book, there's the part during Finch's LSD trip where he sees the smiling, laughing faces of all the people killed at Larkhill, and is filled with remorse for what the regime has done... and then they all run away and disappear...
** In that same sequence, Finch pleads with Delia to help him as he's taken away to be executed, saying [[MinionWithAnFInEvil she's not like the others]]. Delia ignores him.
* [[spoiler:Delia Surridge's]] dignified demise:
-->'''[[spoiler:Delia]]''': Are you going to kill me now?\\
'''V''': ''(holds up syringe)'' I killed you ten minutes ago, while you slept.\\
'''[[spoiler:Delia]]''': ''(fearfully)'' Is there any pain?\\
'''V''': No.\\
'''[[spoiler:Delia]]''': Thank you. [[{{Beat}} ...]] Is it meaningless to apologize?\\
'''V''': Never.\\
'''[[spoiler:Delia]]''': I'm so sorry... ''(dies quietly)''
* [[spoiler: V's death for some.]]
** [[spoiler: His last words to Evey's wish that she doesn't want him to die. "That's the most beautiful thing you could've given me."]]
* If you look closely, [[spoiler: all the dead are in the crowd]] at the end of the movie.
* Everything about Gordon Dietrich in the film. [[spoiler: He's a closeted gay man who takes in Evey at great personal risk, and is killed brutally, presumably after mocking the government on his show (Turns out they executed him on the spot for keeping a copy of the Qu'ran).]]
** His capture is especially hard to watch. He instructs Evey to hide, so she gets under the bed, and is forced to watch as Gordon is beaten and dragged away, locking eyes with him as he falls to the floor... ''exactly like what happened to her parents''. Gordon was the first person in a good long while Evey felt she could really trust, who really wanted to ''help'' her and even seemed to behave in a fatherly manner towards her, and Evey had to watch her protector be dragged away to certain death, ''again''.
