- People have been known to get emotional during "When Christmas Comes to Town" (in which Billy sings about how he's never had a happy Christmas before) and "Believe" (which narrates how children tend to stop being dreamers as they grow up).
- Even though he gets it back, the Hero Boy's expression when he loses the bell is heartbreaking.
- If you look closely in his eyes, tears are partially visible.
- Earlier in the film, his parents imply that he has just stopped believing in the magic of Christmas.
- The revelation at the end of the film that the Hero Boy's friends (and his sister) eventually stopped hearing the bell because they stopped believing in Santa Claus as they grew older. Learning that even Sarah became unable to hear it is a Gut Punch since the audience just saw her listening to the bell's ringing in amazement.
- The dedication to the late Michael Jeter at the very end of the credits, complete with a photo of the actor himself.
