Tear Jerker / Spider-Man Beyond

• Issue #76: While trying to apologize to Peter, Ben admits that one reason he never asks for help is because he isn't used to people actually trying to help him.

• Issue #86: In the previous issue, Otto revealed that the reason Beyond chose Ben to be their Spider-Man is because they saw him as easily manipulated because of his desire to find a purpose. During his talk with Dr. Kafka, Ben admits that Beyond is right about him.

• Issue #89: The Queen Goblin uses her powers to torture Felicia with all her regrets and sorrow over being a bad friend and romantic partner. The Goblin actually succeeds in convincing Felicia to jump to her death before Peter thankfully arrives to save her.

• Issue #93: The final issue is one big heartbreaking moment as Ben tries to steal Peter's memories to replace the ones Beyond took from him. Even as Peter fights Ben, he still tries to convince Ben he can help him some other way. And Ben only gets more and more angry as Peter resists, hurling insults and accusations that do more to reveal Ben's anguish over feeling like an inferior copy to Peter.
  • Peter destroys the device Ben wanted to use to take his memories causing Ben to completely break as he feels he has lost the chance to get his memories back.
    Ben: I'm nothing.
    Peter: Ben there's no way that helmet actually... We can get you...
    Ben: I'm nothing!
  • In the end, Ben falls to his supposed doom, swallowed up by a substance Maxine released to wipe out all evidence of Beyond's crimes. Ben and Peter's final exchange is truly sad.
    Ben: You have it all, Peter. All the parts I'm missing. I just wanted them back.
    Peter: We don't even know if it did that. We can still get you help!
    Ben: Why would I expect anyone to help me?
    Peter: Ben! Jump!
    Ben: Goodbye, Peter.
