Unmarked spoilers below.

  • Taki's Heroic BSoD when he and the SSSP learn from Kaminaga what Zetton can do—and more importantly, what humanity cannot do. Realizing how small and insignificant humans and their progress is compared to the likes of Zarab and Mefilas, Taki timidly asks Kaminaga to handle Zetton before walking out of the office. Soon, we see Taki sitting at the bottom of a set of stairs, running his hands through his hair and hitting the bannister once. It brings to mind Ide, one of the Science Patrol members from the original series, and how in one episode he was wracked with doubting his and his team's purpose when it's always Ultraman who saves the day. Taki has that, amplified by how soon humanity will be obliterated.
  • After Ultraman's first battle against Zetton leaves Kaminaga injured but alive, we see the SSSP at its weakest: Asami is waiting by Kaminaga's bedside; Chief Munakata is in his office, angry that humanity is going to die ignorant; Captain Tamura is in the smoking room; and Taki only comes to the SSSP office with snacks and alcohol. The only one who isn't letting the situation stop her is Funaberi, who continues to work on stopping Zetton from a biological standpoint, despite that being next to non-viable.
Funaberi: Despair is bad for the spirit. It's better to have hope.
Taki: Hope? That's ridiculous! Everything we could do is just useless, useless, useless!
  • Kaminaga and Asami's goodbye. Or rather, their Reunion Vow, where the two buddies bid farewell by promising to see each other after Ultraman saves the Earth. The slow-time Fade to White of Asami's face just hits home how Ultraman will never see her again, and vice versa.
    Asami: See you soon!
    Kaminaga: Right. Be right back.
  • Ultraman's final attack on Zetton is successful in forcing the Kill Sat and terakelvin projectile into the six-dimensional hole. Immediately, Ultraman does his damndest to fly away as the hole starts sucking in anything nearby. Here, we see Ultraman actually struggle to fly—a feat he has never had trouble with before—against the pull of the hole. No matter how much turbulence he experiences, he keeps going. Even as he runs out of power, he keeps going. And yet, even as he pushes himself beyond his limit, he eventually succumbs to the pull of the opening and falls in.
  • Back on Earth, Zetton has vanished from the sky. The SSSP members—Tamura, Funaberi, Taki, and Asami—all gaze up at the spot where Ultraman and Zetton vanished, knowing that their teammate is gone. Asami looks especially devastated, tears dropping down her face. And the world marches on, largely unaware that their lives had been in danger—or saved from it by a certain silver giant's selfless sacrifice.
  • There's one from Zōffy, of all people. Given how detached he is from humanity, it's surprising to hear his voice start to tremble under his stoicism as he tries to convince the injured Ultraman to return home with him. By the time Ultraman convinces him to save Shinji Kaminaga, Zōffy has run out of arguments, and he knows it. Zōffy's voice actor, Kōichi Yamadera, manages to convey an extraterrestrial's sadness when he says the following:
Zōffy: Ultraman… Have you become so fond of humans. (Beat) …Very well. I will grant your wish.
