Tear Jerker / Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken

• Agatha finds a transformed Ruby hiding behind a lighthouse and Ruby breaks down in front of her thinking of herself as a monster.
• Ruby, already stressed out from the town discussing the damage she caused in her giant form, panics when Gordon's video of her goes viral, causing more people to view her as a monster, not even helped that her crush, Connor, even said that her form is "A real life monster!" within sight of her, unaware that Ruby is around. This leads her to run to the school and hide in the bathroom.
• Margot, Trevin, and Bliss being heartbroken when noticing Ruby hanging out with Chelsea. They realized that they shouldn't have ditch Ruby for prom.
  Margot: So much for squad solidarity.
• Agatha sadly watches a daughter hugging her mother as thanks for helping her choose her dress for prom. Even though Agatha forbade Ruby from going to prom less she get wet and trigger her Giant Kraken form, she clearly isn't happy with denying her daughter this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
• Ruby ignores the messages from Connor and Margot while training to get to the trident. Later on, she gets a phone call from Connor, but she simply hangs up. It could be that she doesn't want him to know her whereabouts, know what she is up to, or simply she's no longer interested to invite him to prom anymore since she wants to resolve the conflict between the krakens and mermaids.
  • Chelsea doesn't even bother to encourage her to talk to Connor, because she doesn't care about Ruby or how she's growing apart from her friends.
• Ruby's argument with her mother once the former reveals to her that she made friends with a mermaid and was training with Grandmamah. It ends with Ruby losing control of her powers again out of anger and storming out of the house in her giant kraken form.
  • After their argument, a despondent Agatha bemoans that her own mother is still trying control her life through Ruby even after she left the Kraken Kingdom. She even stands in a front of a mirror that was shattered.
  Agatha: 15 years and she still has her tentacles around me.
• The Reveal that Chelsea was just Nerissa in disguise who was manipulating Ruby the entire time just to get the trident back.
  • Chelsea then rubs it in even further by stabbing Ruby in the arm with the Trident and burying her under rubble.
• Connor, sad and alone in the prom party, removing petals from a flower while thinking about Ruby, due to her not answering him back as stated above.
  • He's not the only one of course- Margot checking her phone for any notice of Ruby, and sadly keeping in her pocket. She truly misses her best friend after she saw her spending more time with Chelsea.
• Ruby becoming heartbroken and feeling guilty after realizing that she was being used by the Mermaid Queen the entire time. She was so happy on meeting someone like her that she felt heartbroken that she was betrayed by the person she trusted.
• While trying to stab her a second time, Nerissa taunts Ruby and mocking her for being a dumb teenager, telling her how pathetic it was of the latter thinking that someone like her would ever be friends with a "monster" like her. This becomes hurtful given how Ruby wanted to fit in, including having a friend who would understand her. Unfortunately for Nerissa, Ruby's Character Development kicks in and she delivers a Shut Up, Hannibal! to her.
