Season One

• Daben loses not one but two people he cares about - his brother-in-arms Niu Xuanfeng and his Godmother Liu Sao. Both these people sacrifice their lives for him during absolutely devastating scenes. Reaction-wise, the normally loud and rambunctious Daben is completely heartbroken in his grief.
  • This is even sadder when one considers the suffering both Niu Xuanfeng and Liu Sao went through before their untimely deaths. The former was constantly mistreated by the other antagonists (particularly Heixinhu) while the latter went through lengthy torture at the hands of Zhu Wujie.
• Tiaotiao's entire backstory - after the murder of his parents when he was a child, he vowed to seek revenge for them. He became one of Heixinhu's minions and worked his way up from the very bottom. For ten years, he was behind enemy lines and had no one to rely on. While all the other Seven have trials and tribulations of their own, Tiaotiao is the only one who pretty much had no years of peace and security until Heixinhu was defeated.
