Tear Jerker / Promising Young Woman

• Cassie viewing the tape of Nina getting raped and visibly tearing up especially when she sees that Ryan was present at the scene and did not do anything to stop it.
• Jordan Green begging Cassie for forgiveness and receiving it, being the only truly remorseful person that Cassie has visited. Cassie is so affected by this that she even calls off the guy that she had paid to harass him.
  Jordan: I can't sleep. I can't. Sleep. I haven't slept in... I'll never forgive myself. I want you to know that. I'll never forgive myself. For any of this.
  Cassie: ...I forgive you.
• Cassie’s panicking cries as Al smothers her. Especially because the ending makes it almost seem like she was okay with risking everything to get revenge on Al, but her reaction when she knows she’s going to die makes it clear she wasn’t ready.
• Cassie's parents looking distressed when their daughter goes missing, unaware of her ultimate fate.
• The ending. After Cassie is killed, the audience is left thinking that her death will go unsolved and the men who ruined Nina's lives will go free. Cue "Angel of the Morning" and the reveal of Cassie's Thanatos Gambit: Ryan gets a scheduled message telling him it's not over, Jordan Green receives a letter explaining what she's planning to do and the phone containing the video with a request to turn it over to the police, leading to the police discovering her body, and the police arrive at that very moment to take Al and Joe into custody for her murder.
• Cassie's final message from beyond the grave: "Love, Cassie & Nina." After so many years and so much trauma, the women are Together in Death and don't get to see their abusers brought to justice.
