Tear Jerker / Once Upon a Studio

• Mickey smiling wistfully at Walt Disney's portrait just before going outside for the photo, as Walt's favorite song, "Feed the Birds" from Mary Poppins, plays in the background. While this is also a heartwarming moment, Mickey is clearly saddened that Walt himself isn't there to see his studio reach its centenary, and misses his creator.
  • Co-director Dan Abraham said that Chris Diamantopoulos choked up recording the lines for this scene and had to take a Beat, which caused the crew to choke up as well.
• When Goofy breaks the camera, everyone is clearly saddened, as many of them start moping back inside, with Mickey himself sounding near tears as he tries to talk everyone out of leaving. Then, music starts playing as everyone looks up to see Alan-A-Dale playing "When You Wish Upon a Star" on his lute.
  • Although some characters most likely weren't outside yet, one can only imagine the pained reactions of some such as Cinderella and Moana who may have been watching the botched first attempt from a distance, feeling genuinely sorry for Goofy, and desperately wanting to help in any way possible (and then continuing on their way down once the singing began).
• Notably, while the deceased villains returned for the shot, other characters who died in their films, like Mufasa and Tadashi, do not return, in a subtle tear jerker.
• For fans of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, seeing Quasimodo get a turn to sing part of "When You Wish Upon a Star" alongside other, more popular Disney characters like Belle and Baloo will induce happy tears.
