"I'm sorry..."

As per Wiki policy, all spoilers will be unmarked. Read at your own risk.

  • Travis is practically begging for Shinobu to make a recovery after she had both of her arms crushed and ripped off. If you look close, Travis even attempts to reach out to hold her hand, only to remember that she has none at this moment.
  • Despite the dealings Travis had with Badman in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, the two eventually made peace with each other and became friends over the course of two years only for Travis to suddenly lose him as he's horrified when FU ruthlessly kills him by crushing his head which then leads to...
    • Bad Girl arriving too late after FU destroys Travis and his crew ending it with him killing her father and is devastated upon seeing her father's corpse. Later on she's shown in a darkened bedroom clutching his mask all while muttering "Daddy..." all over again. Unable to provide any real support, Travis can only mutter an "I'm sorry", which she is too catatonic to hear or respond. In fact, if you talk to her before the Velvet Chair Girl talk, she sounds ready to join her father in her afterlife.
    • What makes this even more sad is the fact that this is the second time that Travis loses a friend at the hands of the Big Bad like he had with Bishop in No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle only this time Travis is forced to witness the act happen in front of him and couldn't do anything about it.
Travis: Now you're really fucked! You goddamn scumbaaaag! I'll fucking kill you!!!!!
  • The way Travis is viciously beating on Gold Joe can be a bit heart wrenching as he is possibly venting his anger over the loss of his friend Badman and taking it out on one of FU's friends as payback.
  • Travis is none too happy over killing Kimmy Love (Kimmy Howell from the second game, now all grown up). He even tells Sylvia that he will not kill another girl again.
Kimmy: Travis...Travis...I want to kill you...
Travis: (sad whispers) Kimmy, see you again in my dreams. This is goodbye.
(stabs his katana into Kimmy's stomach, blood spraying everywhere while bowing his head in shame)
  • Ohma the pink octopus-like pet doesn't take Velvet Chair Girl's death well, only muttering "Adrian" even as Travis kills her. Travis, to his credit, does the deed quickly and painlessly. Sparkles then rain from the sky, and Travis admits that it's like tears.
  • Travis asking if Midori's "babies" (her hands that he just sliced off, don't ask) are twins and it reminds Travis of his own children — as he's been asking Sylvia if they're okay throughout the story — and he hesitates before deciding to give her a painless death. Thankfully Kamui steps in just in time to save her and Travis can tell that Midori didn't have evil intentions in the first place, sparing her.
    • During this, you can hear the hands pitifully call out for their mommy. Midori even asks that Travis doesn't hurt them and accepts her death with a bow of her head.
  • Sonic Juice's death is tragic. He's the only alien outside Midori who really is a superhero and acknowledges that Travis is one of the good humans. He fights fairly and when he decides to stop to protect his people, Travis lets him go. Then FU suddenly arrives and coldly kills Sonic Juice, with Travis only able to react in shock that FU would murder one of his own friends. This is especially noticeable since Travis himself lost two close friends already.
  • Henry's descent into evil is tragic. In Desperate Struggle, we see Henry arriving to save Travis as thanks for taking care of him with even Travis appreciating it. But between Travis Strikes Again and III, something changed him. Not just his demeanor and appearance, but now he's a vengeful demon who's become part of a Hive Mind of duplicates wanting to kill Travis (to the point that Travis has to reduce just one of them to a bloody paste in order to stop him). It gets worse in the ending, where the future versions of Jeane and Hunter reveal that Uncle Henry has now allied with aliens in an intergalactic war. It makes you wonder what happened to him to make him become this way?
    • Even worse, Travis is horrified to have to kill his own brother, screaming in horror when he sees Henry's torso crawling towards him.
  • In a way; Damon ends up killing FU, his childhood friend, saying that he loved (as in past tense) him. It's hard not to hear a sense of sadness from Damon's voice as he prepares to kill the baby alien he once loved. While his motives weren't exactly sympathetic in the slightest, it's hard not to feel for Damon repeatedly being disrespected by his supposedly childhood best friend despite FU repeatedly saying how much he loves Damon. Similarly, it's also not too hard to feel pity for FU too; sure he really had it coming but after literally being beaten so badly that he's left as the same childish figure he was when he crashed landed on Earth many years ago, FU is betrayed by his very first (and last remaining) friend.
  • The end of the game has a funeral being given to Badman with Bad Girl giving her final words that showed how much she loved him as the only family she had left.
Travis: Nice place for the homerun king, huh? Birkin, old buddy. Fuckin' dying on me like that...
Bad Girl: Daddy, I was never able to say this but...you always looked so cool hitting the home runs. You always bought me marble fudge ice cream after your games. I actually wanted coffee flavor, but you always assumed that a little kid wanted marble, so I never said anything. (pour ashes into the sea while everyone tosses flowers) Goodnight daddy. My own No More Hero.
