It may seem like your typical cute and happy otome game at first with a side of superpowers, but not everything is as it seems, with the dark backstories of both the love interests and the MC herself, bringing a box of tissues will be highly recommended.

Season One

Lucien's route:

  • In Chapter 13, Lucien was forced to betray the heroine for her own sake. As he dons his Ares persona, deep down, he was hurt by his actions towards the heroine.
  • In Chapter 16, when the heroine was protecting him from an attack in the dream world from Hades, Lucien yells at her "Why didn't you listen? Don't you even care for your own life?!", showing how much he truly cares and loves her.
  • In Chapter 25, it's revealed that the black queen had been emotionally torturing Lucien by telling him that he can't kill her as long she is being the incarnation of the person he loves the most.
    • In the same chapter, Lucien reveals that he abused drugs and hallucinated images of the heroine during the time she went missing. As she asks about his well-being, he muses that only she would ask these questions and laments that he would never hear them again. He laments that he shouldn't see her, but he can't help himself, telling himself emotions are mankind's greatest limitation, and every time she appears, he knows it won't fix him. Still believing that the heroine is a hallucination, he asks her to stay by his side as he resigns to having a fake image of her living in his mind.
    • At the end of the chapter, the heroine decides to get the key to her apartment after finding out that Lucien decorated his in the image of hers in order to cope. In fear that she will leave him, Lucien pins her against the wall and asks her coldly if she's breaking her promise of not leaving him. Seeing her scared and remembering the other world, he releases her and asks for forgiveness, only for the heroine to not forgive him.
  • In Chapter 26, as the heroine feigns sleeping, Lucien confesses his true feelings. He admits that he thought she would never come back and had died, before concluding that the heroine had become his obsession and he can't bear to be without her.

Gavin's route:

  • After returning back to the original timeline, the heroine's phone has a couple of posts on Moments and voice messages from the cast lamenting her supposed death. Gavin has this to say in his phone call:
Gavin: I was too late. I'm sorry.
