As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

  • Marcy talking about how well she and Andrias got along is painful already, but then she mentions that one of the things they bonded over was having strict fathers, bringing a reminder of both why Marcy did what she did, and of how truly despicable Aldrich was.
  • Speaking of Marcy's dad, from her description of him, the two had an absolutely terrible relationship, with heavy "Well Done, Daughter!" Girl implications. While Mr. Wu couldn't have been anywhere near as bad as Aldrich, you don't have to be a good father to be better than a genocidal tyrant who groomed his own son to be a Multiversal Conqueror. It was clearly only a matter of time before he caused Marcy to run away, and the job that required him to move out of California was evidently the last straw.
  • Marcy writes multiple entries predating "Marcy at the Gates" worrying about what happened to Anne and Sasha, preemptively blaming herself for anything that happens to them because she was the one who got them stranded in Amphibia. With that in mind, it's possible Anne's Disney Death prevented her from fully forgiving herself for her actions, if at all.
    • Speaking of her time in the Night Guard set during Season 1, she did consider to tell the truth about how she tricked Anne and Sasha into stealing the music box so they could be sent into another world to avoid moving out of state. But her team’s unpretty reactions towards Ernst’s betrayal gave her more reasons to double down into her original plan, and keep everything hidden from her friends.
  • What caused Marcy to fall for Andrias' Deal with the Devil? She learned that Anne and Sasha fell out over the latter's controlling behavior, and then Anne's return to Wartwood led to her catastrophizing about their side of the friendship, something which, judging by her saying she "got a bit panicky", led to a meltdown. She then thanks Andrias for calming her down, and then talks about his offer to send them to other worlds to work things through before they head back to Earth. Let's sum up what happened here: a girl thinks she's caused her only friends to drift apart from both each other and her, and then a Hidden Villain, knowing full well she's wound herself up and won't be thinking straight, offers her what seems to be the perfect opportunity to salvage things.
I got a bit panicky during dinner. I think it REALLY hit me that Anne chose to go with the Plantars. Combined w/the fact that she and Sasha are FEUDING... It kinda felt like everything was just falling apart.
  • In a subtle detail, the book includes pictures of Sasha and Marcy with their respective parents. Marcy's is from her 13th birthday, shortly before the show. Sasha's is from when she was a young child, most likely because Sasha's parents haven't been together for a long time.
  • In an absolutely heart sinking moment, after Andrias throws Sprig out of the castle, Marcy, after saving him with Joe Sparrow, wrote an entry while getting back into the castle. She's clearly panicking and barely able to make sentences, her train of thought is near-incoherent, and her handwriting is noticeably not as neat. No drawings either, only burn marks and tear stains on the page. And trust us when we say, it is not a pleasant sight.
HE LIED - He promised... other worlds... new adventures but - So much is happening. Just caught Sprig... bringing him back to the castle on Joe. Have to do something. Have to get everyone to safety. Anne... Sasha... WHAT have I DONE? I'm so sorry.
  • In one of Anne's entries, she describes being unable to sleep due to fear that Marcy might actually be dead getting to her and worries that she might have been responsible for Marcy not opening up about her actions.
    • Becomes worse in a later entry where Anne reveals that she had some doubts Marcy survived that stabbing and only believes it partly so she wouldn't break down in front of her family. It adds on more reasons as to why she hadn't slept much lately.
    • While she admitted it was rude on her part, Anne took her time to read Marcy’s previous entries. The results? While she lamented that Marcy kept her feelings hidden from her, she felt guilty about not being more receptive towards Marcy’s interests, and by extension her personal needs and struggles, and for not being the best of friend by treating her like the girl who’s just “kinda there” and needed to be constantly protected. It’s implied that this realization is the main reason why she was more willing to forgive her than Sasha in “The Beginning Of The End”.
  • After her adventure in Amphibia, Marcy still had to go through several doctors and therapy. It took her some time before she could leave the hospital, showing how realistic her action affected her mentally and physically. She got better in the future, but that was still a lot of problems she had to overcome.
  • Although Marcy's father was able to delay leaving for his new job with Marcy missing, he still had to leave eventually. Marcy gets to stay with Sasha and Anne while recovering, but it's still a bittersweet reunion as a result.
