- Even with all of the movie's darkness and incomprehensibility, the scene where Julie sees Liz's ghost emerging from her pool is rather sad, especially for those who lost a friend in childhood. The music that plays in the background (the haunting "Flow" by Transister) definitely helps.
- The scene where the school learns of Liz's death would count, too.
- Liz's parents, back from their vacation, discover their little girl is dead and her bedroom turns into a crime scene.
- One of the girls screaming at Courtney during the prom is in tears, and all she's doing is screaming "Why?!" over and over again as she tries to comprehend why Courtney killed someone like Liz.
