Tear Jerker / Azure Rain

• Eureka being shot. Baltan going into depression and refusing to eat afterwards doesn’t help things any.
• Naesa losing her legs and realizing that she will probably never be a warrior.
• There’s a good portion in the final chapter where the narration really makes it sound like Baltan died.
• It’s brief and maybe doesn’t have that much of an impact since he was in it for such a short time, but the possible death of Mr. Turnap. Especially considering that if he got killed, it was only because he had been nice to the main characters and was probably the only person who was ever nice to Lleuwellyn.
  • On that note, Sitr. He was in the book even less than Mr. Turnap, but Eriete’s reaction to his death is still pretty sad.

• In Crimson Lightning, two of the warriors who died in the raid on Kwoltan Gera were a young married couple.
• Naesa starts to tear up when she talks about tribe life, and the way she treats her mother’s wedding dress makes it painfully clear that she loves and misses them very much. It’s one of the few times so far that she's dropped her bratty attitude.
