While Abigail is a violent bloodthirsty vampire, several moments in the film show she isn't entirely evil and she is
still just a little girl:
- Trailers Always Spoil, but the reveal that Abigail is a vampire doesn't happen until halfway through the film. When Frank is holding Abigail at gunpoint and screaming at the child, the absolute fear on her face has you feeling terrible for her, even though we learn later that it was all an act. For all Frank and the other kidnappers know, this is just a normal girl.
- Abigail's taunts to the group reveal that her transformation into a vampire was very traumatic. While no details are given, knowing vampirc lore and Abigail's age, one could guess this was far from consensual.
- While she was putting on a front prior to revealing her true nature, Abigail was not lying when she said her father lost interest in fatherhood and doesn't love her. The events of the film was Abigail's cry for attention and love. When Joey says to Abigail that her father doesn't love her, you see the brief look of heartbreak on the child's face.
- As Vampire!Frank is attempting to drain Abigail, she locks eyes with Joey and weakly holds up her pinkie, harking back to when Joey pinkie-promised Abigail that she won't allow anybody to hurt her.
