The translators of Gal*Gun have scattered references to pop culture and video games and the like all throughout the games.

Gal*Gun: Double Peace

  • When first visiting the shop on any given run, Houdai and Aoi engage in a brief conversation before Aoi ends it with: "So what's up? 'What're ya buyin'?'"
  • During the prologue, when Ekoro explains to Houdai that the love arrow he was hit with was 32 times more powerful than a normal love arrow, Houdai exclaims: "WHAT?! 32?! That sounds like I'm gonna have a bad time!!" which is a reference to both Undertale and South Park.
    • And at the end of the prologue, right after the Doki-Doki mode tutorial, Ekoro asks Houdai if his "body is ready".
  • Ekoro calls Houdai "Creeper-sama" at one point.
  • Shinobu's pointing animation bears a striking resemblance to Athena Cykes' pointing animation.
  • The head of the Gaming Club has a pair of tetrominoes as hairclips.
  • One of the requests is a girl looking for a "Z'GOX" action figure, whose name is one letter away from Z'GOK, complete with an accurate description.note
  • The request for curry ingredients has one girl mention that her friend Chie in Inaba says that coffee will add great depth of flavour, as a reference to Chie telling Nanako to add coffee and bacon to chocolate that she was making.
  • After completing the request that has you finding the volleyball in the courtyard, the girl starts messaging herself saying "Just do it, Ren! Don't let your dreams be dreams!"
  • The "Three Sacred Treasures" Shiho talks about could be a reference to Kid Icarus.
  • One request shows that a girl forgot to do her homework, so she asks to copy her friend's. Her friend's response is "You shall not pass... off my work as your own!"
  • The make-up lesson Kurona has been assigned to is named the "Mischief Markers assignment."
  • Right before the section where you have to let Shinobu dominate you after she has been affected by Kurona's demon spear, Houdai yells out "I want to be your dog!"
  • After the Shinobu domination section, one of the dialogue options you are given when Shinobu says "...You saw everything, didn't you?" is to start counting prime numbers, which is a habit of Father Pucci's that he uses to calm himself down in stressful situations.

Gal*Gun 2

  • One of the requests is titled "My Little Sister Can't Be This Weird".
  • During a cutscene with Chiru, she states that humans are all "Pigs from Piggsburg".
  • The name of the company that sends you the AR Co. care packages is called "Kawezon", with a logo that looks like a smiling face. It may remind you of a certain other company...
  • One cutscene with Chiru has her change into a swimsuit to "make up for wasting your time," and while both responses involve you taking photos, one response is worded as "I have a mighty need for photos!!"
  • During "going outside" training with Chiru at school, you meet her at the Gym Storage facility and she turns up in a gym outfit. One response you can give her is "No Bloomers, No Life".
