Ships That Pass in the Night in this series.
  • After their introduction it became popular to ship the troublemakers, Viney and Jerbo, with the Blight Twins, Emira and Edric. Viney and Emira is the most popular of the possible ship combinations by far, though they all have their fans. In the show itself, neither group has interacted with the other. The epilogue does show Viney and Emira are coworkers at the hospital, working together with others to remove coven sigils, and they are both present at Luz's birthday party but they are never shown interacting 1-on-1.
  • Camila Noceda:
    • Some fans have come to ship Eda with Camila, Luz's mom, simply because they're both maternal figures to Luz and would seem to balance out each other's shortcomings in Luz's upbringing via a Gentle Touch vs. Firm Hand dynamic. Luz's dad's absence helps. The two characters never meet until the montage towards the end of the final episode.
    • After the season one finale, there was a small surge of fics pairing Camila with Lilith. Many fans of this pairing drew parallels to Lumity (a caring Hispanic human with a straight-laced witch with emotional hangups). This trend toned down significantly when Word of God revealed that Lilith is aromantic and asexual.
    • Some ship Camila with Darius, due to him acting as Hunter's paternal figure while she would come to be his maternal figure (along with the other members of the Hexsquad) in the third season, on top of various popular AUs that depict Luz and Hunter (and Vee) being siblings or having a sibling dynamic. The two character never interact once.
  • A small group of fans ship King with Skara, after one scene in "Sense and Insensibility" features Skara kissing a cardboard cutout of King before taking it with her.
  • After Hunter's debut, some fans immediately dropped shipping Emira and Edric with Viney and Jerbo, respectively, in favor of Edric/Hunter and Emira/Hunter. This is despite Edric only interacting with him briefly in "Labyrinth Runners" and Emira not interacting with him at all.
  • Luz' doppelganger, Vee, and the unnamed human girl with pink highlights in her hair seen in the first episode quickly attracted a following after it was revealed that Vee does a far better job fitting in than Luz. However, the pairing quickly lost all steam after "Thanks to Them", which implies that Vee has a crush on Masha, causing fans to jump to the Vee/Masha ship instead.
  • Boscha and Bria are also shipped despite having never met and being students from rivaling schools.
  • Despite not having much interactions on-screen, Skara/Viney started picking up momentum.
  • Katya/Steve is starting to gain some traction, even though they've only been on-screen together for a handful of seconds and have not spoken to each other.
