Overlord and the Underwoods is a show produced by MarbleMedia and Cloudco Entertainment, premiering in the United Kingdom on October 4, 2021 on Nickelodeon and on October 29, 2021 on CBC Gem.
The series focuses on a North American family called the Underwoods, whose life goes upside down when the second most wanted criminal in the world, their distant cousin (their mother Flower’s seventh cousin, once-removed to be precise) Overlord - who is an alien, seeks refuge in their home after being forced into intergalactic witness protection after he snitches on his boss and is made to live with the Underwoods.
Tropes:
- Galactic Conqueror: Overlord was this, although he used to work under a bigger one before going into witness protection.
- Long-Lost Relative: Overlord is Flower‘s seventh cousin, once removed.
- Poke the Poodle: Overlord does a series of this in the first episode after running away from the Underwood household, such as putting gum on bicycle seats or stomping on flower bushes.
- Significant Anagram: When ordering stuff from the mail, Overlord uses the alias "Dr. O. Lover", stating that since he’s in witness protection, he can't use his actual name.
