Iglot is a Filipino fantasy series that premiered in 2011 on GMA Network and is the second Spin-Off of Mulawin (the first being 2005's Encantadia).
The story of Iglot revolves around the sole surviving member of a species called the Unggiko, who were often kept by the Mulawins as pets. The egg of the last Unggiko was saved by Aviona when the Ravenas killed the other members of the species.
Iglot contains the following tropes:
- Bittersweet Ending: While Iglot is safe from harm in the final episode, Mariella, who is Ning's long lost mother, fatally dies after a tragic attack, and Iglot and Ning tearfully part ways as the former begins his journey home. Meanwhile, Mariella's friend, Danielle, who felt sorry for Ning's loss, decides to adopt her the very next day after Mariella's funeral and Iglot's departure.
- Last of His Kind: Iglot is the last surviving member of the Unggiko species.
- One-Word Title: The title Iglot is only one word.
- Sole Survivor: Iglot was saved by Aviona before he could be killed and is the only survivor of the Ravenas' genocide of the Unggiko species.
