Ärliga Blå Ögon is a Swedish Miniseries that first aired in 1977 in Sweden. It has since become a classic.
The series follow a young female Con Artist (Anna Godenius) (her real name is never revealed) as she swindles people (who usually haven't acquired their money fair either) in spectacular ways. In the meantime, she is pursued by Chief inspector Simonsson (Stig Ossian Ericsson) and a particularly vengeful previous victim.
Ericsson reprised his role as Simonsson three years later for the otherwise unrelated series Sinkadus
This series contains examples of:
- Anti-Hero: The Con Artist is the protagonist of the series. She is also a cold and cunning swindler.
- Downer Ending: The series ends with most of the collected money destroyed and the Con Artist forced to start over again, and the police is still pursuing her.
- Everyone Has Standards: When asked by her friend whether she really did kill the pimp, the Con Artist blatantly rejects it, stating that she would never kill anybody
- Hero Antagonist: Simonsson is a perfect example of this. He's a dedicated, by-the-book cop who wants to bring criminals to Justice. Since the protagonist happens to be a swindler, he falls under this trope.
