What the... ?!

Your eyes begin to adjust to the darkness and you find yourself in a room, you've never seen before. You want to stand up but are barely able to move. You look down to find that your arms and legs are strapped to a wheelchair.

As the panic begins to set in, you catch a glimpse of a figure out of the corner of your eye.

?!

A young girls standing in the darkness stares at you with cold eyes.
The Last Labyrinth is a VR Room Escape Game by Amata. It was released for Sony Playstation VR, X Box and Nintendo Switch.

You assume the role of an unnamed masked person who is bound to a wheelchair and has to escape a set of treacherous rooms in a mysterious mansion, with the aid of a little girl. Since you can't use your hands to interact with the environment you have to navigate your companion via pointing your head at crucial objects and acivating your head-mounted laser pointer to highlight them. You are also unable to speak so whenever your helper becomes uncertain about the requested action, you can only nod or shake your head to tell her what to do.

The Last Labyrinth contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: There's just a whole lot of pain waiting for your little companion, including falling to death, beig squished, incinerated, electrocuted and ... having an empty basin dropped on her head.
  • Harmful to Minors: Whenever you fail, your little helper is the first on the punishment list and you get to watch her horrible demise in lucid detail.
  • High-Voltage Death: One of the possible death is being electrocuted in a freaky automated teslapunk electric chair.
  • The Many Deaths of You: There's a plethora of ways you and your helper can meet your demise. The most common include being crushed, falling to your death or electrocuted. Some of the particularly nasty involve incineration by molten metal or having your heads chopped off by a guillotine.
  • Video Game Caring Potential: is actually a vital part of the gameplay as your little companion will be the first to pay for any error on your part.
  • You Wake Up in a Room: ...strapped to a wheelchair with no hint of how you actually got there. But you do want to get out fo there.
