This book is for teenagers from 11 to 81.

Lee Mui Ee

Adrian would write a sequel the following year called The Teenage Workbook focusing on Sissy Song's (lack of) love life

Tropes regarding both books:

  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • Sissy Song
  • Alliterative Name: Sissy Song
  • Lemony Narrator: who may or may not be the author of the titular textbook
  • Shout-Out: titles, Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title or straight-up
    • Textbook: A Perfect Stranger, And They Called It... Puppy Love, Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind (Close Encounters of the Third Kind), She's a Working Gal (she's a working girl), The Call of the Wild, In, Love, In Love, In Love, Remembrance of Things Pasta (In Search of Lost Time), Tears On A Paper Heart (Tears On My Pillow), 2B or Not 2B?, And the Banned Played On (And the Band Played On), Hair, There and Everywhere (Here, There and Everywhere), Adventures of the Scarlet Pimple (The Adventures of the Scarlet Pimpernel), Brief Encounter
    • Workbook: Some Don't Like It Hot (Some Like It Hot), For Your I.C Only (For Your Eyes Only), There's Got To Be A Mourning After (The Morning After), The Game Of The Name (The Name of the Game), Mother, She Wrote (Murder She Wrote), Charlie's Angles (Charlie's Angels), A Tailor of Two Cities (A Tale of Two Cities), The Breast Of Times (The Best of Times), Three Men And A Maybe (Three Men And A Baby), A Room With A Deja View (A Room with a View), Cuts Like A Wife (Cuts Like a Knife), Yes I'm A Male Pretender (The Great Pretender), Desperately Seeking Sushi (Desperately Seeking Susan), What's Up Doc, Beauty and Obese (Beauty and the Beast), The Taming of the Shoe (The Taming Of the Shrew), Wine, Women and (Sissy) Song
  • Speech Impediment: Kok Sean has a prominent one that turns his "S" to "Th" and vice-versa whenever he gets overly excited or angered. This got him into trouble twice when he completely blew his chances at ever dating Sissynote  in the first book and almost got falsely arrested for drunk driving in the sequel since he couldn't properly say the tongue twister "She sells seashells at the seashore".
  • Title Drop: The last chapter of each book, sub-title, The Melting Of An Ice-Cream Girl, The Passing Of An April Shower
